Frequently asked questions
- What fees can I be charged?
- Under the Renting Homes (Fees etc.) (Wales) Act 2019, agents can only charge: rent; a refundable security deposit (capped at 5 weeks' rent where annual rent is under £50,000); a holding deposit (capped at 1 week's rent); payments for default (such as a lost key); and certain payments associated with ending a tenancy early. We never charge for referencing, inventory, check-in or admin.
- How much is the holding deposit?
- One week's rent. It's held while we complete checks and is offset against your first month's rent if you move in. If you withdraw, give false information or fail right-to-rent checks, we may retain it (in line with the Act).
- Where is my deposit held?
- In a government-approved tenancy deposit scheme. You'll receive the prescribed information within 30 days of paying it.
- Who do I complain to?
- Start by emailing us. If we haven't resolved your complaint within 8 weeks, you can escalate to our redress scheme — details on our complaints page.
